Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-08-24

What this is

Kagodo is a personal assistant, operated by Tan Li-wen Melanie in Singapore. These terms are the agreement between you and her. By using Kagodo you accept them. If you do not, do not use it.

How your data is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

This is early access

Kagodo is unfinished, given to a small number of people by personal invitation. It will have bugs and it will sometimes be down. Features will change or disappear. Data can be lost: keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose. It is provided free and as-is, and access can be withdrawn at any time.

Do not use Kagodo for anything where a failure would seriously hurt: legal deadlines, medical decisions, or money you cannot afford to lose.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or older and have been invited directly. Your account is yours alone. Do not share your login, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

What your assistant does for you

You authorise Kagodo to act on your behalf. Within what the app offers, it can read your mail, read and change your calendar, prepare and send email from your assistant's address, create tasks and reminders, file documents and expenses, and look things up, including without being asked each time.

Some things need your approval first, and some do not. This distinction matters, so here it is exactly:

You are responsible for what it does. An email your assistant sends after you approve it is an email you sent. Read drafts before approving them. Because calendar changes apply immediately, check your calendar rather than assuming a mistake was caught before it landed.

Its output is not legal, medical, financial or professional advice.

Google Calendar and connected accounts

If you connect Google Calendar, you authorise Kagodo to use your Google Calendar data to provide assistant features, including understanding your schedule, answering questions about upcoming events, and creating or updating calendar events when you ask it to manage your day. Google's own terms still apply, and you are confirming you are allowed to connect the account. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.

What it will never do

Kagodo refuses, by design, to handle:

Kagodo is never in the money flow. It does not hold your card, hold funds, or make payments. Where something needs paying, it prepares everything up to that point and hands off to you.

Acceptable use

Do not use Kagodo to:

We can suspend or delete your account for any of this, without notice.

Other people

By forwarding someone's message to your assistant, you confirm you are entitled to do so. Your assistant does not monitor conversations. On Telegram it replies only when you @mention it or reply to it directly, and pays no attention to anything else.

Your content, and ours

Anything you put into Kagodo stays yours. You grant permission to store, process and transmit it only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy. You keep responsibility for having the right to give us that content.

Kagodo does not use your content to train AI models. The Privacy Policy names the AI providers we use and describes their published no-training commitments for API or customer-content processing.

You also allow Kagodo to create operational logs and telemetry from your use of the service so we can debug failures, verify deployments, measure cost, detect outages and secure the service. The Privacy Policy explains what is collected, who receives it, and how long it is kept.

The Kagodo app, name, design and software belong to its operator. You get permission to use the service; you do not get rights in the software. Do not copy, reverse-engineer or redistribute it.

Price

Kagodo is currently free. If it becomes paid, you will be told before any charge, and you can stop using it instead.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and delete your account from Settings. We can suspend or end your access at any time because this is early access, and will give reasonable notice unless the reason is a breach of acceptable use, or a security or legal problem. When your account is deleted, your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

No warranty, and limits on liability

Kagodo is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that anything it produces is accurate.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from actions your assistant took or failed to take. Our total liability to you, for all claims combined, is limited to the greater of SGD 100 or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be sent to you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Kagodo after that means you accept them.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
